Outfitter-Canoe trips in Maine
One of my favorite enjoyments in the summer is canoeing
the many rivers streams and ponds here in Maine, you
never know what your going to see, the chances are good
for a moose, or eagle, as well as beaver and maybe an
otter. We can plan a trip to visit some of the historical
places along the water ways, and the chance to fish
and catch smallmouth bass, brook trout, perch, pickerel,
and the occasional salmon also makes the trips interesting.
There are many different canoe or kayak trips available
in this area of Maine. The option for day trips and
being able to come back to the camps to power and running
water at night is almost endless. This is a great option
for those new to canoeing it allows you to travel lighter,
by bringing less gear, and gives you more time to canoe
and enjoy the woods by not setting up and breaking down
a camp site each day.

Birch
Hill Camps also have a few overnight trips in this area
available the most poplar is Baskehangen stream and
also the Mattawamkeag River, both of these canoe trips
have established campsites, where fire permits are available.
We also provide over night trips into other areas of
Maine such as the Allagash Lake and river, along with
many other remote unknown places here in Maine.
Besides providing portage services or shuttle services,
both for people staying at the camps or doing a trip
on there own, I am more than willing to provide gear,
and advice. Give me a call or send an e-mail, and we
can plan your canoe trip to Maine, together tailored
to your interests.
